This accessibility statement applies to COLIN instances (websites with the domain of *.pressoffice.solutions).
COLIN is run by Press Office Solutions Limited. We want as many people as possible to be able to use it in their day to day life. For example, that means you should be able to:
- zoom in up to 400% without the text spilling off the screen
- navigate the website using a keyboard or speech recognition software
- listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver)
- change colours, contrast levels and fonts using browser or device settings
- skip to main content option
We’ve also made the website instructional text as simple as possible to understand.
AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.
How accessible is COLIN?
We know some parts of this website are not fully accessible:
- you cannot modify the line height or spacing of text
- if uploaded by our users, most older PDF documents are not fully accessible to screen reader software
- As a collaboration tool, some content added by your colleagues may contain inaccessible data, files or images
- Some productivity enhancements are not available, such as the multiple simultaneous file upload feature.

Technical information about this website’s accessibility
Press Office Solutions Limited is committed to making its website accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.
Compliance status
The website has been tested against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standard.
This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 AA standard, due to the non-compliances and exemptions listed below.
Non-accessible content
COLIN is a private and secure collaboration tool used to store content uploaded and managed by a community of end user. Therefore:
- Content uploaded end users may not be compliant as they may copy and paste content without consideration for accessibility
- Whilst we can prevent certain types of files being uploaded, we cannot control the content of the file uploads.
Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations
1.4.11 – Non text contrast of focus indicators
A contrast ratio of at least 3:1 is present for differentiating graphical objects (such as icons and components of charts or graphs) and author-customized interface components (such as buttons, form controls, and focus indicators/outlines).
Focus indicator does not contrast with page background all the time. Due to the contrasting colours on our current page design there is no perfect colour that achieve the contrast required 100% of the time. This will be fixed with the next redesign on the UX.
Disproportionate burden
Section 2.2.1 Keyboard
All functionality of the content is operable through a keyboard interface without requiring specific timings for individual keystrokes, except where the underlying function requires input that depends on the path of the user’s movement and not just the endpoints.
The vast majority of the site is accessible to keyboard-only users, However, currently, on a call log form there is a type ahead function to select a journalist from the internal database and then an option to select one of the results provided. This is not currently available via keyboard only users. The flow of work is still achievable by continuing to type in the journalist details into fields provided. As this is a productivity enhancement and does not prevent the end user from completing the task we have deemed this to be a disproportionate burden to fix.
2.5.7 Dragging Movements
All functionality that uses a dragging movement for operation can be achieved by a single pointer without dragging, unless dragging is essential or the functionality is determined by the user agent and not modified by the author.
Currently, there is a feature available to mouse users to change the order of compilation of forecast items using a drag and drop gesture. This has been determined to be a edge case that is rarely used and can be worked around by a keyboard-only user by editing the content of the final output, so has been deemed to be a disproportionate burden to fix.
Keyboard-only users are not able to multi-select files to upload into the attachment control in bulk. Instead they need to conduct this one file at a time via the file upload dialogue window.
Content that’s not within the scope of the accessibility regulations
Any end user controlled content.
PDFs and other documents
There are no PDFs or other files that are within the scope of this accessibility statement as they are not within our control within the application .i.e. files are uploaded into customer’s file storage areas by the customers only.
Live video
There is no video used within COLIN.
What we’re doing to improve accessibility
With every major new version of COLIN we will be designing for and testing against the current WCAG AA standards and maintaining the high levels of accessibility we have invested heavily in.
Preparation of this accessibility statement
This statement was prepared on 15th September 2025. It was last reviewed on 15th April 2026.
This website was last tested on 1st September 2025 against the WCAG 2.2 AA standard.
The test was carried out by the UK Government’s Home Office Accessibility testing team to measure against Home Office accessibility standards (within which the WCAG 2.2 AA are a subset of controls). The most used pages were tested using automated testing tools by our internal team.
